Dear Lincoln Families,

We had an exciting and successful first week of school! It's been wonderful getting to know each student and learning procedures to help build a stronger classroom community! Each student should have a "good fit" book in their backpack. 4th graders are encouraged to read for 20 minutes or more at home. Once the reading is finished, students need to record the minutes and pages read. Please sign your initials to the bookmarker. This is one example of how students can earn "yards" and eventually score a touchdown! This is a wonderful way to continue the conversation with your child about what is needed for school.

Thank you for the classroom donations. We have a long year, and your kindness is appreciated. Currently, we are all set! Thank you for sending a daily snack and water bottle each day.

Remember to send in pictures for the writers' notebook and a picture in a frame of a special moment to put in the classroom! You will get the frame back at the end of the year. Thank you!

Testing for the Reading NWEA will begin on Tuesday, September 12th. It may take all week for all students to finish. Math NWEA will be the following week on September 19th. We will begin testing each day at 9:00. It should take Please consider not scheduling appointments if possible. Students can bring in gum or mints to have during the test. The results from the testing are beneficial for our teacher team to use to get to know your child as a learner and begin to set learning goals.

If your child is interested in the Safety Patrol Program. Below is the parent permission Google form.

Have a fantastic Week!

Safety Patrol Permission Form

If your child is interested in being a  Safety Patrol Officer for this school year please fill out the form below.  Safety Patrollers help ensure that children cross the streets safely before and after school.  This responsibility means that they must be at their assigned post at 8:10 every morning and stay at the post until about 4:05 p.m., for the week they are assigned.  Students who ride the bus will start the bus patrol when they get off the bus in the morning and before they get on the bus in the afternoon. Please fill out the Safety Patrol Parent Permission Google form if your child is able to participate in this program. Please click on this link to fill out the form. Safety Patrol Permission Form 2023-24. Snacks in the Classroom

Please make sure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example please no yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items for daily snacks. This avoids spilling on school devices, furniture, new carpet, etc. These snacks work better in the lunchroom. Thank you for your understanding.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class please bring in non-food items, for example instead of cupcakes maybe pencils. Sometimes parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!
