Dear Lincoln Families,
Thank you to all parents who were able to come to Back-to-School night. Here are the presentation slides if you haven't had a chance to look at them yet. 4th Grade Back-to-School Night Presentation. Just a reminder that student-led conferences will be on October 12th (which is a half-day), October 16th, 17th, and 18th. With the teacher's support, students will present learning goals and and I can statements for their conferences. Together the student, parent, and teacher will discuss and celebrate a plan for the student. So each child needs to be present at the conference. Please sign up below on the link provided. If you have questions, more information will be given at Back-to-School Night. I encourage you to ask your child what goals they are thinking about for reading, writing, and math!

Our class is doing a wonderful job getting the daily reading done at home! Thank you for encouraging your child to have a "good fit" book in their backpack and read for 20 minutes or more at home. Again, once the reading is finished, students need to record the minutes and pages read. Please sign your initials to the bookmarker. This is one example of how students can earn "yards" and eventually score a touchdown! This is a wonderful way to continue the conversation with your child about what they are reading. Be sure to ask them about, the "who" (characters), the "what" (problem or situation), and "why" (solution).
Remember to send in pictures for the writers' notebook and a picture in a frame of a special moment to put in the classroom! You will get the frame back at the end of the year. Thank you!
Have a fantastic Week!
If your child is interested in being a Safety Patrol Officer for this school year please fill out the form below. Safety Patrollers help ensure that children cross the streets safely before and after school. This responsibility means that they must be at their assigned post at 8:10 every morning and stay at the post until about 4:05 p.m., for the week they are assigned. Students who ride the bus will start the bus patrol when they get off the bus in the morning and before they get on the bus in the afternoon. Please fill out the Safety Patrol Parent Permission Google form if your child is able to participate in this program. Please click on this link to fill out the form.
