Hello Lincoln Families,

Thank you for your attendance at our student-led conferences! Many of you asked how you can help support your child at home on their personal goals, especially in math. They must go through Clever to access IXL and enter @stjoebears.com after their login. Remember in IXL math, there are two areas they can specifically work on. "Test Prep" is where each student's NWEA goals have been entered. Diagnostic will cover missed skills and other math goals below and above the 4th-grade level they may need to work on. Here is a Link to get to the Lincoln Symballoo and a Screencast to explain directions.

Costumes: Students can wear costumes to school. If there are masks or items that cover the hands, please plan to keep those in the backpack during class time and only wear them during the party and the parade. Additionally, please save any weapons or gore for the night of Halloween--we don't want to scare our littlest learners! We know this day will be exciting, but any help with eliminating distractions for learning time will be greatly appreciated.

Parade: We will have a school-wide parade on the 31st. If weather permits, families are welcome to come and watch the parade at 3:15 by standing outside the playground fence area. In the case of rain, the outside portion of the parade will be canceled.

Snacks in the Classroom

Please make sure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example please no yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items for daily snacks, including sandwiches. This avoids spilling on school devices, furniture, new carpet, etc. These food items work better in the lunchroom. Because the 4th grade has a fast-paced curriculum, snack time is a quick break, not a meal. Thank you for your understanding.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class please bring in non-food items, for example instead of cupcakes maybe pencils. Sometimes parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!
