Hello Lincoln Families,

Our class clips touched the floor! To celebrate on Tuesday, May 28th our class wants to bring bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and hoverboards to school. Your child doesn't have to participate, but if it works for you, they can bring it to school in the morning.

In the classroom: 

Reading: Our reading strategy focus will be looking for the main idea of non-fiction and fiction passages and books using EBLI strategies. I am working on what reading strategies and goals each student needs. These strategies are intended to be added to their "reading tool kit". These mini-lessons are used as a focus for many reading strategies. It's possible to use more than one reading strategy at a time. These strategies cover comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expanding vocabulary. What is EBLI?

Math: Unit 7: Unit 7 assessment will be given sometime this week. 

Angles and Angle Measurement: Students learn to draw and identify points, rays, segments, angles, and lines, including parallel and perpendicular lines. Students also learn how to use a protractor to measure angles draw angles of given measurements, and identify acute, obtuse, right, and straight angles in two-dimensional figures.

Snacks in the Classroom

Please make sure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example please no yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items for daily snacks, including sandwiches. This avoids spilling on school devices, furniture, new carpet, etc. These food items work better in the lunchroom. Because the 4th grade has a fast-paced curriculum, snack time is a quick break, not a meal. Thank you for your understanding. 

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class please bring in non-food items, for example instead of cupcakes maybe pencils. Sometimes parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!

8:10 Drop-Off Begins: Students can go to the playground or enter the building for breakfast

Supervision will be available on the playground.

8:23 Bell Rings for students to begin to enter the building.

8:25 Bell Rings: Teachers should be outside their

doors to monitor the hallway and greet students as they enter the room

*Students who will be eating breakfast may enter the gymnasium door anytime after 8:10 to enjoy breakfast in the cafeteria.


*Late Start Wednesdays:

Supervision for Late Starts will begin at 8:10 at Lincoln Elementary School.

Arrival time and tardy bell delayed one hour 9:25/9:30


*Half-day dismissal is at 12:09 p.m.

*Shuttle riders should head outside at 3:30 on full days and 11:55 on half days.

  Hello Lincoln Families, Sarett Field Trip: We will be going to Sarett on Friday from 12:30-2:00. Parents are welcome to meet us there. We will be hiking through different habitats, so wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. There is a $3 adult entrance fee that can be paid at Sarett.  Thank you!  Penny War:  Student Council is raising money for the Curious Kids Museum and Meals on Wheels. In an effort to get the whole school involved, we are having a penny war competition. Starting Monday kids are encouraged to bring in pennies for the next three weeks. They will turn them into milk containers during lunch. Dollars are welcome too! All silver coins can be used to deduct points by placing them in an opposing grade level's container. The grade level with the most points at the end of the 3rd week, will get to choose their reward, and all money donated will go to two great causes!   Hello Lincoln Families, Just a reminder the Kindness Party will be on February 14th from 2:00-3:00. I reached out to the committee who signed up to organize snacks/treats. However, if you have a special treat you would like to send in you are more than welcome. We have no food allergies.  If you decide you want to send in treats, you can send them in with your child the day before or the day of the party. This party will be similar to the holiday party in December. We will have snacks and students can distribute Valentine's cards if they want to.  Click on this link for student names  for Valentine's cards. We will not need parents to come in. Spring conferences are on an as-needed basis. I have emailed parents, notifying them if I feel a need for a conference. If you didn’t receive an email and would like a conference, please email me and we can set up a time.  Conferences will be on Thursday, February 22nd.   Hello Lincoln Families, Lansing Parent Note: Please click this link for the  Lansing trip and chaperone information . There is a lot of information. Please read carefully:)   Here is the  snack sign-up sheet  for the Lansing trip as well. Snacks must be the exact brand name and flavor as the signup. They also need to be individually wrapped.  Please have the chaperone form completed by March 29th and the snacks turned in by April 11th.  Thank you for your help!
